The pharma-specialist PPS A/S is now appointed as officiel Universal Robots certified integrator, CSI, in Denmark. This allows the company to document its expertise to its customers and ensure them access to the most up-to-date solutions and the latest knowledge.

The pharma industry is characterized by high demands for traceability and documentation. PPS provides production, packaging and automation solutions to customers, who often have to handle varying batch sizes with a high degree of flexibilty, and the certification opens up new perspectives.

– We are excited and proud of the recognition from Universal Robots. The appointment as a certified integrator gives our customers a great deal of security in regards to competencies and documentation requirements throughout the entire supply chain. As an official Universal Robots CSI, we can document our competencies within the UR-technologies, and the appointment also means that we direct access to draw on the competencies in the UR organization. The certification is a clear seal of approval, which can open up new opportunities in our markets in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, says Søren Pedersen, CEO and Sales Director in PPS and continues:

– We see a trend among our customers towards more orders with smaller batch sizes. It drives a higher degree of automation and implementing of inline printing and labeling solutions to ensure high efficiency on production and packaging lines. Here we see a huge potential for cobots, as they are extremely flexible and fast in the conversion phase, and the appointment can therefore strengthen us as an automation partner throughout the Nordic region.

PPS have worked with automation in 15 years in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Besides a strong position with pharma and medico, the company also supplies food and manufacturing companies. According to Søren Pedersen, the company also sees great automation potential in research and development, as cobots can offer great precision and repeatability when handling samples and products. To meet the great demand for automation solutions, PPS has established a dedicated division, which will focus on automation tasks and implementation of robots under the name PPS Automation.

Universal Robots recognizes PPS for knowledge and skills.
At Universal Robots, country manager and sales manager in Denmark, Michael Hjertebjerg, is satisfied with being able to appoint PPS as a certified integrator.

– PPS has worked dedicately to secure the necessary competencies. It is therefore a pleasure to appoint PPS as CSI. With the certification, companies in pharma, medico, research and food now have access to an automation partner who can document UR competencies at all levels. With increased globalization and regulatory focus on the markest in which PPS operates, I expect that the certification will be a great strength for both PPS and UR, says Michael Hjertebjerg.
